How we work in Sydney
Electrocoat is a Sydney crew. We respray aluminium windows and sliding doors, balustrades, handrails, staircases, gates, fences, roller doors and architectural steel right where they're installed. Nothing is taken off the building, nothing is sent to a factory and nothing is replaced. We clean, prep and prime the metal, mask everything around it, and apply a charged liquid coating that wraps around every edge for a smooth, factory-style finish.
Most of our Sydney work falls into three groups. Homeowners who want every window and sliding door in the house changed to a new colour, usually from dated cream, beige or faded bronze to black, monument or a metallic. Strata committees and managers who need a whole building's frames or balustrades refreshed without a special levy for replacement. And builders who need scratched, chipped or mismatched powder coat fixed on site before handover.
Why Sydney metalwork fades
Sydney is hard on exterior finishes. Strong UV through summer breaks down the colour on north- and west-facing frames first, which is why one side of a house often looks far older than the other. Close to the harbour and the ocean, salt carried on the wind settles on balustrades and window frames and works into any chip or scratch. Add a few decades of age and many original aluminium finishes turn chalky to the touch.
The metal underneath is usually perfectly sound. What's failed is the surface finish, and that's exactly what we replace. Proper preparation is the difference between a respray that lasts and one that doesn't, so we spend most of our time on cleaning, keying and priming before any colour goes on.
