Aluminium window respraying in Brisbane and South East Queensland
Recolour aluminium windows and sliding doors in place. Our Sydney-based crews travel to Brisbane for suitable whole-home, building and builder projects; we do not have a local office.
Assessing sun-exposed aluminium before changing colour
Brisbane aluminium windows can face strong sun, moisture and very different exposure between sheltered and open elevations. A colour change therefore starts with checking the existing finish, not assuming every faded frame can receive the same treatment. We consider whole-home and building enquiries across Brisbane and South East Queensland, from aluminium additions to Queenslanders through to modern homes and strata properties. Our Sydney-based crews travel for whole-home, building and builder projects; we have no Brisbane office. The extent of the work, frame condition and access determine whether a travelling project is practical.
Sun and UV exposure can contribute to fading or chalking, but appearance alone does not reveal how well the existing coating is attached. A shaded window may also carry different contamination from a frame on an exposed western elevation. Preparation needs to respond to those differences rather than simply making the whole house look uniform before spraying. The proposed coating must be appropriate for the assessed substrate and conditions. No finish should be presented as immune to Queensland weather, and future cleaning and inspection remain relevant even when the main objective is a fresh architectural colour.
Queenslanders, later additions and modern homes
A Queenslander may combine original timber elements with aluminium windows installed during an extension or enclosure. Our aluminium respraying scope should not be confused with restoration of timber sash windows. Where retained metal frames are suitable, their colour can be considered alongside weatherboards, verandah details and roofing so the newer openings feel less disconnected. Modern Brisbane homes present a different brief, often with larger glazed areas and a tighter material palette. In either setting, identify which frames remain and which are being replaced before selecting a finish intended to connect the whole property.
Strata colour decisions need clear boundaries
For apartments and townhouse groups, frame colour may be part of a shared exterior scheme rather than an individual owner's decision. Establish the relevant approval process and who controls the surfaces before planning work. Access, resident communication, screens and the distinction between internal and external faces should be addressed in the scope. Coating will not solve water penetration, damaged glazing or worn window hardware. Where those problems are present, owners and building managers need a repair pathway first, allowing the decorative work to be coordinated with necessary maintenance instead of hiding its symptoms.
Preparation & application
How your respray comes together
Build an elevation-by-elevation brief
Send overall property photographs and closer images of faded, peeling or damaged areas. Include frame quantities, storeys and the faces to be coated. Note sun exposure and any difficult access so the enquiry reflects more than a headline window count.
Confirm suitability and the palette
Review the existing finish, intended colour and adjoining materials. For strata properties, establish approval requirements before treating a colour as settled. Operational faults, glazing defects and other repairs should be identified separately from the proposed respraying work.
Clean, prepare and isolate
Preparation addresses the assessed surface condition and selected coating system. Glass, cladding and nearby finishes are protected, while tracks, seals and drainage features are considered carefully. The aim is not to coat moving or functional components indiscriminately.
Apply under appropriate conditions
Exterior work depends on suitable conditions for the specified products, including the state of the surface. After application, the agreed areas are reviewed and care guidance is provided. Scheduling and handling requirements are confirmed for the actual project rather than promised generically.
Project evidence
A general window example for a property-specific discussion
The residential window image is a general example of resprayed aluminium windows on a residential property. It is not claimed to be in Brisbane or South East Queensland. The photograph can help communicate the idea of retaining suitable frames while changing their appearance, but it does not establish how a sun-exposed Queensland frame should be prepared.
For your enquiry, include both the most weathered elevation and a sheltered example. Comparing those conditions helps identify questions about the existing finish, while a wider view shows the materials and colours that the proposed window finish needs to complement.

Questions
Aluminium window respraying Brisbane: your questions answered
Can faded frames be coated after years of Brisbane sun?
Possibly, but fading alone is not enough to establish suitability. The existing finish needs assessment for adhesion, chalking and damage. Preparation and coating selection should follow that assessment, and no specific service life should be inferred merely from selecting a new colour.
Do you respray the original timber windows in Queenslanders?
This service concerns aluminium frames. A Queenslander may contain both timber windows and later aluminium additions, so photographs help distinguish the scope. Timber restoration and repairs are different tasks and should not be assumed to be included in an aluminium window respraying enquiry.
Can a townhouse complex change every window colour together?
A coordinated strata project can be assessed once approvals, ownership responsibilities and access are understood. Provide a building-wide window schedule where possible. Similar-looking frames may have different conditions or previous repairs, so the scope still needs to account for individual variations.
Are crews permanently located in South East Queensland?
No. We have no Brisbane office, and our crews are Sydney-based. They travel for whole-home, building and builder projects where the overall scope is suitable. Include enough detail at enquiry stage to assess travel rather than assuming a nearby crew is available.
